Miho Hazama was the conductor of the 2022 Prince Claus Concert

​For the Prince Claus Concert 2022, classical music students worked together with students from the jazz department in the Hanze Symphonic Jazz Orchestra. Guest conductor was the Japanese composer and conductor Miho Hazama.

In Down Beat, the renowned American jazz magazine, Miho was named "one of the 25 for the future" and we are honoured that she worked with our orchestra.

Soloist was the American saxophonist Mark Gross. Gross used to be one of the regular guest teachers in our New York comes to Groningen programme of the jazz department. In addition to being a celebrated jazz saxophonist, he made his appearance in several Broadway musicals and in a number of films and series, such as Malcolm X and Boardwalk Empire.
