Joris Teepe is a bassist, composer, arranger, producer and artistic advisor at the Prince Claus Conservatory of Music. He also teaches at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

He moved to New York in 1992 to immerse himself in the jazz scene. He took lessons from Ron Carter, got to know many musicians and performed extensively. A year later he recorded his first CD with Don Braden, Cyrus Chestnut, Carl Allen and Tom Harrell.

He worked with famous jazz musicians such as Benny Golson, Sonny Fortune, Rashied Ali, Billy Hart and Randy Brecker. He was a member of the Rashied Ali Quintet for nine years which changed his outlook on music. Teepe now has over ten albums to his credit and has established himself as a composer/arranger, producer, teacher and bandleader. He has arranged music for singers such as Deborah Brown, Fay Claassen, Nana and Mathilde Santing.
