Boris Koslov

Moscow-born and three-time Grammy Award-winning bassist, composer, and arranger Boris Kozlov has been a key figure on the New York and international jazz scenes for over 35 years. He has served as bassist, arranger, and musical director for the Mingus Big Band, Mingus Dynasty, and The Mingus Orchestra for 22 years, while also leading his own projects and co-leading OPUS 5.

Boris has performed with jazz greats like Michael Brecker, Ray Barretto, The Manhattan Transfer, and Brian Lynch, contributing to nine Grammy-nominated albums, including Eddie Palmieri's Simpatico. He won a Grammy for Live at The Jazz Standard in 2011.

His solo album Double Standard led to performances and master classes worldwide, while his trio album Conversations At The Well (2016) and quintet album First Things First (2022) have further cemented his reputation. Kozlov is endorsed by Fodera Guitars and Gallien-Krueger Amplifiers.
