Conducted by Marco Comin, the Hanze Symphony Orchestra performs Gustav Mahler's Symphony No 1 and selected orchestral songs by Henri Duparc.
These young student musicians present a broad palette of musical emotions at the annual Prince Claus Concert. Mahler's First Symphony, a monumental work takes you from deep tranquillity to an overwhelming finale full of heroism. Mahler combines elements of folk music, sounds of nature and a grand symphonic palette in this masterpiece, making this piece one of his most beloved symphonies. Five songs by Henri Duparc are also performed, interweaving the voice as a solo instrument with rich orchestral colours.
