Music festivals

Students of the Prince Claus Conservatoire can be heard at many music festivals.

The Aurora Festival is the largest chamber music festival in the Northern Netherlands with more than 50 concerts over ten days. Fixed part of the festival is an international summerschool for young musicians. The conservatory is home to the festival and the summer school, and many of the musicians and teachers are associated with us as teachers or alumni.

We are a regular partner of SoundsofMusic, the music festival for curious ears that focuses on modern music, both classical and improvised. But also of Swingin' Groningen, the inner city festival that takes place in the city centre squares. This free festival provides a stage for jazz and crossovers with both up-and-coming talent and seasoned musicians.

In cooperation with Eurosonic/Noorderslag, we organise an annual songwriters camp for C&M students who write a song in 1 day under the guidance of renowned songwriters.

We are also closely associated with the Princess Christina Competition, the Haydn Music Festival and the LiedDuo Competition.

Students can be heard (have been heard) at many other festivals such as Festival der Aa, Roeg Klassiek, Oranjewoud Festival, Jazz te Gast and the ZomerJazzFietsTour.
